And Allah knows best.

Without doubt Trump’s victory was the manifestation of much white frustration. Like brexit it was a reactionary vote utilized to take back “their” country (although American Indians were there long before).

As for the American Muslims then it should be known than what occurred could not occur except by the will of Allah. From the tenants of faith (Imaan) is to believe in predestination, the good and bad (wherein there is an unknown wisdom) of it. Likewise that those things that supposed to occur would not elude us and that those matters which eluded us were not supposed to occur.

Secondly, the victory of Allah does not come with conflicting that which was legislated from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Rather, it comes with patience. Likewise ease comes with discomfort and difficulty.

Hence, although harassment against Muslims (as well as African Americans, Latinos etc.) would increase, it is the best of times to return to Allah in submission, supplication and prayer as he is the remover of all difficulty. As Trump is the President of the U.S now, after four or eight years his presidency would end. However Allah, who is the one who controls all affairs and takes and gives to whoever he pleases remains, Remember, even during Trump’s reign, absolutely nothing can befall anyone who he spewed hatred against except by Allah’s will.

As Allah said: “It is possible that you may dislike something and it is better for you. Allah knows and you do not know.” A brother from Guyana who lives in the United States said that perhaps a Trump presidency would make Muslims in the U.S more serious regarding their religion because in times of ease we tend to forget Allah because of the comforts we have in this world.

Additionally, Malcolm X (may Allah have mercy on him) said regarding Afro-Americans (and I would apply this for Muslims also) that an openly xenophobic president may be better. Why? It is because such a person cannot hide their racism and therefore Afro-Americans would arise and begin doing things to uplift their communities themselves. He also said that such a President would wake up the whole world in an unprecedented manner, even more than the world woke up to Adolf Hitler!

In conclusion, if you haven’t woken up as yet then don’t try to set an alarm to do so.

  1. السلام عليكم

Can you please remove this statement, “Without doubt Trump’s victory was the manifestation of much white frustration”…it is an opinion that is offensive to the white American salfis. A…we don’t vote as Muslims. B…you are now doing what ignorant do by grouping all of one race, culture, etc…into on unit that acts the same and feels the same…which is false.

“Also, Like brexit it was a reactionary vote utilized to take back “their” country (although American Indians were there long before).”

This introductory paragraph does not benefit the Muslims nor the article. Please edit this out. We shouldnt make stereo typical statements or discriminatory statements like the ignorant ones…we are above that as Muslims and mostly as salafis… We shouldn’t make race a factor in our speech nor inner feelings.

  2. Wa Alaikum As Salaam my dear brother,

I totally understand your sentiments brother and I’m neither discriminating against whites or saying that one should feel guilty for being white. Just to clarify, my statements were about white supremacists because many whites are against Trump and white supremacy. Furthermore, some whites are Muslims.

At the same instance, one can’t deny that white supremacist ideology and racism/xenophobia was a major factor in this U.S election. It is undeniable that white privilege exists in the U.S and that minorities (Muslims, Latinos, African Americans etc.) are discriminated against on a daily basis.

Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم) himself attacked Arab racism toward Ethiopians head on using very strong language. And likewise my dear brother, we should not be from those who overlook the issue of racism and classify the statements of those who see it clearly as discriminatory. Rather, it is incumbent to speak against it or take necessary actions which can help destroy it from its root..

Hence, if the discrimination comes via white supremacists then as Muslims (whether we are white, black, hispanic etc.) we must deal with that reality and find solutions to either destroy it or mitigate it through legislative (Islamic) means.

May Allah bless you and keep you well.

I completely understand habibi. Just was suggesting a re-wording that’s all. And pardon if there was any wording of harshness. Texting can come off different than the original intent. May Allah reward you for your efforts in The Daw’ah and keep us firm. Aameen

      • No problem brother, and may Allah reward you with good for the concern because it brought about benefit.
