Da’wah in Trinidad 7. Who wants leadership? Anyone?

Everyone wants to be a leader but no one wants to learn the religion. This is the situation all over the Muslim world but it is amplified in a small country like this. It is amplified because we have so many groups in this country and as the old addage goes two man rat can’t live in the same hole.

The Ikhwanis want leadership because they have degrees in Engineering. Mass Communications or otherwise. However, when one asks them if they have memorized even one Hadeeth or one Juz of the Qur’an with proper Tajweed you will not hear one sound from them.

The Tableeghis want leadership and they have gotten it in the country. They have placed memorizing the Qur’an uppermost and they are the only institution who has a madrasah. However their Aqeedah is not that of the Salaf and they are partisans to every statement of Imam Abu Haneefah in Fiqh.

The Takfeeris want leadership but again they have lack of knowledge. And if one wants to know the status of the community he must know that the fish does not spoil from the tail but rather the head.

The Sufis from ASJA want leadership but with that they seek to maintain the traditions of their forefathers.

And then some ignorant Salafis want leadership over those who have more knowledge than them. Those who haven’t learned anything anywhere want to climb the Minbar and give Da’wah. Haraam, Haraam, Haraam. That is ultimate foolishness. You don’t put a cadet to lead troops.

We must remember that Allah gives leadership through knowledge, action upon it and patience. “And we made them leaders who guide by our orders once they had patience”.

Allahu Musta’aan.
